Liberation Through Inquiry. There are many ways to be with oneself and therefore many ways to practice yoga. I specialize in making yoga accessible for all: from brand-new beginners to experienced practitioners; from athletic weekend warriors to those recovering from injury or illness. Even if you are confined to your bed, you can benefit from the practice of yoga.

For me, the yoga mat is a safe laboratory upon which to work with and make choices about habits and patterns – ultimately creating ease and freedom in the physical, emotional and energy bodies. It is this ongoing self-discovery process that inspires me to unfurl and step onto my mat every day. It also informs how I share the teachings with others.
"You are the sky. Everything else - it's just the weather." ~ Pema Chodron
A practitioner of yoga since 1996, I was initially attracted to the physicality of yoga asana; over time, my focus and interests have evolved to include the more subtle and contemplative aspects of yoga and other mindfulness-based practices. From this experience, I have learned that the practices are big enough vehicles to encompass and support the intentions we bring to them and the experiences that then arise.

This ongoing process of learning and evolving is a metaphor for the ongoing process of learning about myself and the seat I take in the world. During times of uncertainty I take refuge in my yoga and meditation practices. I take refuge in placing my reiki hands on my body. I take refuge in being very active as well as being very still. I take refuge in simply being.

Some fruits of these practices manifest immediately. Others unfold with time. How much time? I do not know. This is why I practice everyday.

My current karma (work) is trusting the teachings, even when the fruits of my labor can feel so uncertain. I know that each time I step onto my mat, each time I sit on my meditation cushion, each time I place my reiki hands upon myself or others, I am planting seeds that will be cultivated based upon my choices and my thoughts. It is up to me to chose the nutrients and amount of tilling that I give to the soil, the ground, my practice. The results will be what they will be, and I trust that over time the fruits will reveal themselves.

Everyone can practice yoga. It's a personal practice that is unique to the individual. I currently work with a range of private clients including pre/post surgical patients; dementia clients who are aging in-place; and able-bodied weekend warriors. I enjoy meeting people as they are and personalizing the yoga experience to meet their needs. I teach three public yoga classes a week was well as private classes in an Assisted Living Facility. In the past I have worked as a front-line yoga therapist supporting sub-acute patients and providing end-of-life care in Skilled Nursing Home environments.

A yoga educator, I am on faculty with several yoga studios and I have also created and teach my own 200 HR Yoga Teacher Training and other advanced yoga teacher trainings. I'm also a Reiki Master and run my own Reiki Trainings (Levels I, II, III and Master).

May you be peaceful, may you be joyful, may you be healthy and free.
